SEPTEMBER
Runs of mature chinook and coho continue
to push through in good numbers both inshore and offshore.
Inshore fishing for adult chinook and coho can be spectacular,
especially in the first half of September. Large numbers
of adult coho make for some great surface fishing offshore.
Mature adult and feeder chinook tend to dominate the offshore
scene. Mature adult chinook tend to get out numbered by
feeder (immature) chinook (average 10-18 pounds) especially
in the latter part of September.
Halibut continue to offer opportunities,
especially offshore. September can be one of the best months
of the year for both fishing and weather. Limits are 2 chinook,
2 coho(1wild,1 fin clipped inshore,2 fin clipped offshore)
and 2 halibut per person a day, with a 2 day possession
of 4 chinook,4 coho and 3 halibut. |
