Thanks again for a great day fishing! We caught 4 beautiful salmon! We feasted that night on the salmon and crab from your traps! Fishful Thinking did a great job of freezing and packaging the rest of our salmon! Thanks for recommending them! I hope you continue to have successful fishing days and enjoy the rewards of crabbing! Next time up we definitely want to try for a 'Hali' as well! You were an awesome captain and guide and we loved Barkley, too (he was a great entertainer)! we look forward to our next visit!

Hi Matt,
Just a brief note on behalf of myself and my three buddies express our thanks for the great time we had while fishing with you on July 22 & 23/08. Kirk was a great Captain and did a superb job tracking down the halibut and Chinooks so that we were able to limit out both days. In summary the crew, boat and service were first class! It is the intention of some of us to fish with you again next year and will confirm dates and times later.
Hopefully you and/or Kirk can make it down to our place in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico this fall to take on some marlin. The best two months are November and December but I'm booked with other friends from the 12th of December through New Years.

Now on way east to Ontario to try lake fishing, had to leave 40 kgs of fish with my daughter and husband in Victoria, so hope to refill lader with trout and pike etc. Again, many thanks and look me up when you come to New Zealand.

David & Terry Gilbertson here. Just wanted to say that "Captain" Kirk, took very good care of us -awesome guide. We were both looking for a great fishing vacation, and West Coast Fish, really served one up. Our two day fishing trip, landed us 155 lbs. of fish to take home, with 2 Tyee, and several other large Salmon. It blew our expectations of West Coast fishing out of the water. Fishing was so good on day one, I had to call back to my roomate in Vancouver, to go out and purchase a box freezer. Here are a few great pics of our trip, feel free to quote me, or put the pics on your website. We will be back, and looking forward to it.

Thanks for all your efforts towards a totally successful day at the drive through "Ling and Hali Mart"!! My two boys really had a gas and were both entertained and impressed with your focus on filling the boat. They were both pretty quiet through the day as they were just taking it all in.(and REELING) Once we got in the truck to head home they drew a breath and started in on reliving and enjoying the day over and over again, the next morning it was still all they could talk about! Appears like we had the desired effect on my wife as well. She thinks we should be going again too. Looks like another successful mission for Westcoast Fish!

As they had never been salmon fishing before they wil now be spoiled and not realize what fishing for salmon can be like amd how often you don't have the results your team provided. We weren't stopped for more than ten min. before,
Bam! Our first hit. Hans, pulled in a nice but small
8 lb. Chinook salmon. We thought he should let it
go, but no way, he was keepin' it! A couple minutes
later Dave got a strike. A beautiful 12 pounder (his
only one in). Later, Anita pulled up the first of
many halibut (now known as the halibut queen). In
the end, we limited out in our catch. End tally: 6
salmon and 6 halibut. A nice final ending to our trip:
pulled up the crab trap and got 5 nice Dungeness crabs
for the pot.
Thanks again. We hope to book another charter in the
near future.

I finally got caught up with all
my email and crap at work and got around to sending
you a note. Just wanted to thank you and have you
pass on a very big thank you to Kirk. He was an
excellent guide. All of us had an incredible
experience and are looking forward to booking with
you next August. Frank turned 80 this year (August
6) and catching a 35 lb Chinook (the biggest one!)
made the trip for him. I will contact you in April
2005, or earlier, once I confirm dates with
my father in law and the rest of the crew.

I lit the wood stove today for the
first time this fall. I guess this must be
the end of summer. It is probably a good thing that
I just finished stacking under cover, 6 cords of
Doug Fir and Hemlock.
Thank you again for the wonderful
day on the water the other day and all of the fish,
prawns and crab. I am planning on coming back
next summer for a couple of days minimum. As you
suggested, we may try to sneak over early in the
spring also.

The best fishing experience I have
ever had. I have fished in Alaska, Rivers
Inlet, Queen Charlotte Islands, Big Bay and numerous
other places around the world. Kirk was a First
Class Guide and took great care to make sure we
were at the right spot at the right time.
He constantly checked the gear and adjusted the
depth to give us the best possible chance of catching
fish. We caught and released over 50 silvers and
over 20 Chinooks.
The 21` Grady White boat was excellent
in the Ocean, we never felt unsafe. Kirk cleaned
and filleted our fish just the way we like them.
He even bleed them out for us before putting them
in the fish box.

Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the
day out with you...
despite some people's urge to "chum"! It
was one of the best days we
have ever had out on the island. And the crab and
salmon were amazing!
I have quite a few people eager to come out and see
you now... so:

with 4 guys... one
with 4 adults and 3 kids.
Let me know if it can be done and if so how much...
I'll have to
probably sell one of my kids to pay for it but it'll

All four of us are unanimous in our determination
our two days bouncing around on the Pacific Ocean
chasing Halibut and Salmon will go on record as some
of the best fishing we've ever experienced. The reality
we all limited out both days was simply a value-added
bonus to the opportunity to spend a couple of days
watching " Captain
Kirk " keep our lines in the water and coaching
us to get our catches into the boat.
WestCoast Fish Expeditions is indeed a class operation
Matt. ....you did deliver on your commitment to being
a "Top Producer of Halibut
and Salmon." We all realize that circumstances
beyond your control can result in less than limit
catches and remain convinced the experience would
still have been a memorable one for most who spend
8 to10 hours a day on the water with you and your
guides.
Please thank Kirk for his knowledge, patience and
fishing talent.

Hi Matt,
This was our 3rd year fishing with West Coast Fish
and like every year, it was fantastic. We limited
on halibut, coho, chinook, and even a bonus of 4
big ling cod! The fish arrived home safe and sound,
and our trip is the talk of the island (not to mention
the fish stories and barbeques that are being lined
up!). We wanted to say how much we enjoyed seeing
you and Kirk again, and also
getting to fish with your brother, Mark this time!
Great guy! Please send him the pictures and the Fish
Tacos recipe that I forwarded to you. We plan to
fish with you again next year, for the 4th year in
a row! Coincidentally, we will also be celebrating
our 25th (Silver) wedding anniversary! So maybe this
will be the year that we catch the 100 pound plus
Hali or Tyee!

Matt, you and your team delivered on your promise
of an awesome experience which I don't think any
of us have ever had before. Your service and attention
to detail, while stil having a bunch of fun, was
